Your dashboard and brains

The dashboard is the page you start from. It shows a card for each area you can use. Select a card to open that area.

To come back to it from anywhere, choose Main menu, then Dashboard.

Open an area

Select a card on the dashboard:

Brain Bank: your wiki. See Wiki.
Grow Brains: put notes, links, files and photos into your Brain Inbox. See Inbox.
Workspace: your todos, journal, projects, pillars and reflections. See Workspace below.

When you have messages you haven’t read, a Messages card shows too, with how many, for example “2 unread”. See Messages.

Brain Settings and Messages are always in the menu: choose Main menu. Only brain admins see Brain Settings. See Brain settings.

Workspace

Workspace holds the things you work through day to day:

Todo: see Todos.
Journal: see Journal.
Projects: see Projects.
Pillars: see Pillars. When pillar reviews are due, it says how many, such as 2 due, and so does the Workspace card.
Mind Maps: maps you write to think something through. See Mind maps.
Reflections: the Daily Review, a few minutes with each pillar. Once you’ve done it today, it says Done today. See Daily Review.

Select Back on any of those pages to come back to Workspace.

Protect your account

Until you’ve added a passkey or turned on two-step verification, the dashboard shows Protect your account. Without either, the emailed code is your only way in, so losing your email address could lock you out.

Select Set Up to go to your Account page and add one.
Select Not Now to hide it. It comes back after 30 days.

Once you have a passkey or two-step verification, it doesn’t show again.

If you belong to one brain, the site opens it for you. If you belong to several, you see Select your brain after you sign in.

Select the name of the brain you want.

The dashboard opens for that brain. Its name is shown at the top of the page.

Switch to another brain

You can only switch if you belong to more than one brain.

Choose Main menu.
Select Change Brain.
Select the name of the brain you want.

The dashboard opens for that brain. If you belong to only one, Change Brain is greyed out and can’t be selected.

Who can do this

Everyone can use the dashboard and switch between the brains they belong to. Only brain admins see Brain Settings in the menu.

A Global Admin who has the platform organisation open sees the platform console instead, with cards for Organisations, Messages, Platform and UI Patterns. See All organisations.

If something goes wrong

“Please choose an organisation you belong to.” The brain you chose isn’t one of yours. Select one from the list.

Access Suspended You see this page, with “Your access to name has been suspended. Please contact the organiser.”, if every brain you belong to has blocked you. Contact the brain’s admins. Select Sign Out to leave.

You don’t see a card you expected Organisation is only for organisation admins. Messages is hidden when the platform has switched messages off. Ask an admin of your organisation.
