Knowledge map

The Knowledge map shows your wiki as a map. Your brain is at the centre, each category is a hub around it in its own colour, and each article sits around its category. Use it to find an article you half remember, and to see what it’s linked to.

To open it, select Brain Bank on your dashboard, then Map.

Find an article

  1. Look for the area of the category you want. Scroll to zoom in, and drag the background to move around.
  2. Or choose the category in Category. The map moves to it and fades the rest.
  3. Select the article.

To see the whole map again, select Reset View. With a large wiki, article names show once you zoom in.

Read an article, or see what it’s linked to

When you select an article, a panel beside the map shows its title, category, tags and first few lines.

  • Select Read Article to open it.
  • Select Show Connections to add what it’s linked to onto the map: its todos, projects, pillars, journal entries and other articles, each in its kind’s colour. Select Hide Connections to take them off again.

Select one of those to see what it is, then Open to go to it. Select a category’s hub, then Show in Brain Bank, to see that category’s articles in the wiki.

You can also move between items with Tab and open one with Enter. Escape closes the panel.

Use the list instead

On a phone the page shows a list instead of the map: each category, with how many articles it has, opens to show them.

  1. Select a category to open it.
  2. Select an article to read it, or Connections to list what it’s linked to.

On a wider screen the same list is beside the map. Choosing a Category opens it there too.

Who can do this

Every member of the brain.

If something goes wrong

  • “That didn’t load. Please try again.” The article’s details or links couldn’t be fetched. Check your connection and select it again. If it was deleted, reload the page.
  • “No articles yet.” Your wiki is empty. Add something to the Inbox and select Process.
