Connect an AI
Connecting an AI lets you ask it about your todos, journal, wiki, pillars and projects, have it add to them, link them, and curate your Inbox: “what’s due this week?”, “add a journal entry about today’s meeting”, “what am I working on for my Health pillar?”, “process my brain.supply inbox”. An AI can’t delete anything. You choose what it can reach, and you can disconnect it at any time.
Connect Claude
You can connect from claude.ai, the Claude app or Claude Code.
- In Claude, open its settings and add a custom connector.
- For its address, type your Brain Supply address followed by
/mcp, such ashttps://brain.supply/mcp. - When Claude opens Brain Supply, sign in if you’re asked.
- On Let Claude reach your Brain Supply?, choose No access, Read only or Read and write for each of Todos, Journal, Inbox, Wiki, Sources, Pillars, Projects and Links between items.
- In Expires after, choose 30, 90 or 365 days.
- Select Allow.
Claude says it’s connected. To turn it away instead, select Deny.
The page says where access will be sent. If it says the app named itself, check that you started connecting from the AI just now.
Connect another AI
An AI that supports connectors (also called MCP servers) with sign-in connects the same way: give it the same /mcp address, sign in, and choose what it can reach on the same page. [CHECK: the exact steps for ChatGPT and the Gemini CLI, and whether each supports this kind of connector yet.]
For a script, or an AI that can’t connect this way, create an access token instead: see Access tokens.
Have an AI curate your Inbox
- Connect it with Read and write for Inbox and Wiki.
- Ask it to “process my brain.supply inbox”.
It takes the items one at a time, with the same instructions the site’s own AI follows, and files each one. It runs on your own subscription to that AI, so it costs you nothing more here. Its name is recorded on each version it writes, in the article’s History.
If you’ve asked for its version on Compare, it writes that version instead of filing the item.
Disconnect an AI
- Choose Main menu, then Account.
- Under Access tokens, find the one marked Connector.
- Select Revoke, then Revoke again to confirm.
The AI can no longer reach your Brain Supply. Connect again whenever you like.
Who can do this
Anyone signed in, for the space they have open. The AI reaches only that space.
If something goes wrong
- “This connection request can’t be used. Start connecting again from the app.” The request expired, was already used, or was opened in another browser. Start again in the AI.
- “Open your own space first, then start connecting again from the app.” Choose your space with Main menu, then connect again.
- “Choose Read only or Read and write for at least one area.” You chose No access for everything.
