Process and Compare

A curator reads an item from your Inbox and decides how to file it: as a new article, as an addition to an article you already have, or as a receipt. It follows the same instructions whoever it is: the site’s own AI when you select Process, or an AI you’ve connected.

Compare lets you see what several curators would make of one item, side by side, with what each cost, and keep the one you like.

To open it, select Compare on an item in the Inbox.

Compare curators on an item

  1. Under The site’s AI models, tick each model to try.
  2. Tick Ask a connected AI too if you want an AI you’ve connected to write a version as well.
  3. Select Start Comparing.

Each of the site’s AI models writes its version straight away. A connected AI writes its version the next time you ask it, for example “Process my brain.supply inbox”. Until then its card says “Waiting for a connected AI.”

Read the versions

Each version is a card. It shows:

  • the title, category and tags it would give;
  • Files as: a new article, a receipt, or a merge into one of your articles;
  • its text, with what it adds underlined and what it removes struck through, against the Baseline;
  • Time and Tokens, and Cost: about how much it cost in US dollars, or “Your subscription” for an AI you’ve connected, which you already pay for.

To mark the others against a different version, choose it in Baseline.

When a version is very different from the baseline, its marked text is hard to read. Select Show as Article on its card to see it as the article it would file, with its headings, tables and pictures. Select it again to see the changes.

When there are two versions, they share the page’s full width.

Keep one

  1. Select Keep This One on the version you want.

It’s filed, and you’re back on the Inbox with “Kept. The article is filed.” The other versions are discarded.

If the article it would merge into has changed since the version was written, you see a message saying so. Select Keep Anyway to add it as a newer version, or Cancel. The article’s history keeps both.

Stop comparing

Select Discard All. Every version is discarded, and the item waits in the Inbox again.

Who can do this

Every member of the space.

If something goes wrong

  • “Tick at least one model, or ask a connected AI.” Nothing was chosen.
  • “This item can’t be compared now: it’s being curated or waiting for your review.” Wait for it to finish, or review it first.
  • “The site’s AI couldn’t write a version.” Discard All, then compare again.
  • “The site’s AI isn’t set up yet, so this couldn’t run.” Ask a connected AI instead.
