Curating log
The curating log records every time a curator works on something from the Brain Inbox: each article filed, each Compare version, each failure, and each link that couldn’t be read. Use it to watch what curating costs and what goes wrong. It keeps no titles or text of its own: an entry shows its item’s title while it’s in the Brain Inbox, and the article’s title once it’s filed.
To open it, select Log at the bottom of the Brain Inbox.
Choose a period
Select Last 7 days, Last 30 days, Last 90 days or This month. The page shows the last 7 days at first.
Read the totals
- Curated: items filed as articles or receipts.
- Cost: what the curating cost, estimated in US dollars. Versions made on Compare count too.
- Average time: how long a model took to answer.
- Failure rate: how many tries failed, out of all the tries.
- Fallbacks: answers that were unusable, so the item was filed as it was.
Under Cost per day, each bar is a day’s cost, and a red dot marks a day with a failure. Select The numbers to read them as a table. By model shows the tries, failures, average time and cost of each model, to help you choose one.
Find failures
- Select Failed above the entries.
- Each failed entry says why, such as “The site’s AI couldn’t curate it.” or “The link couldn’t be read.”
- Select Try again from the Brain Inbox to go back and select Try Again on the item.
Fallback and Review show those entries in the same way. Select All to see everything.
Who can do this
Every member of the space. A Global Admin can’t see it.
If something goes wrong
- “Nothing in this period.” Choose a longer period.
- An entry says Deleted item: its item was deleted before it was filed.
